Dr Kamya Kameshwar

Dr Kamya Kameshwar is a highly skilled and compassionate dual-trained Nephrologist and General Physician. She is dedicated to providing comprehensive, patient-centred care for individuals experiencing a wide range of kidney disorders and complex medical conditions. Known for her approachable and enthusiastic manner, Dr Kameshwar focuses on empowering her patients, ensuring they are active participants in their own healthcare journeys.

Dr Kameshwar completed her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) with Distinction at the University of Auckland in 2011. Following her graduation, she relocated to Australia to undertake extensive postgraduate specialty training. She completed her Basic Physician Training and subsequently her Advanced Physician Training in both Nephrology and General Medicine across several major metropolitan health services and hospitals in Victoria. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) and also contributes to the medical community as a Lecturer in Medical Education, teaching and mentoring the next generation of medical professionals.

In her clinical practice, Dr Kameshwar manages all aspects of general nephrology and general medicine. She has particular expertise in the management of chronic kidney disease, acute kidney injury, and supportive care. Her clinical interests also encompass renal replacement therapies, including dialysis and transplant medicine, as well as perioperative management to ensure optimal patient outcomes before and after surgical procedures.
