Dr Jurriaan Beek

Dr Jurriaan Beek is a highly respected and dedicated General Practitioner who provides comprehensive, compassionate care to patients in Casino, New South Wales. With a deep commitment to community medicine, Dr Beek supports individuals and families through all stages of life. He is particularly passionate about family medicine and women's health, ensuring that his patients receive personalised and reassuring medical guidance. His outstanding contributions to rural health and the wider community have been formally recognised with the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM).

Dr Beek completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at the University of New South Wales, qualifying in 1976. Prior to his medical studies, he pursued his interest in science, earning both a Bachelor of Science with Honours and a Master of Science, and working as a Research Physicist. Following his medical degree, he undertook postgraduate training in obstetrics in Newcastle. Dr Beek is a Fellow of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) and holds a Diploma from the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (DRANZCOG). He also contributes to the future of the profession as a Conjoint Lecturer at the Western Sydney University School of Medicine and as a member of the RANZCOG Board of Examiners.

In his clinical practice, Dr Beek focuses on a broad range of general practice services, with a special interest in obstetrics, antenatal care, and post-natal care. He is dedicated to supporting women throughout their pregnancy journeys and providing ongoing family medicine. His approach is characterised by a belief in the importance of continuous, long-term care, which allows him to build strong, trusting relationships with his patients. Outside of his clinical work, Dr Beek enjoys photography, bushwalking, and canoeing, and retains a lifelong appreciation for physics and mathematics.
