Dr Julie O'Brien is a highly experienced General Practitioner dedicated to providing comprehensive, patient-centred care. She approaches healthcare holistically, combining evidence-based medicine with a deep understanding of each patient's unique life circumstances, family dynamics, beliefs, and social context. Throughout her career, Dr O'Brien has developed a broad range of clinical interests, allowing her to address diverse patient needs across all stages of life. Her clinical focus spans the full spectrum of general practice, with particular expertise in child health, emergency medicine, and obstetrics and gynaecology. Before establishing her long-term career in general practice, she gained valuable experience working in various regional and metropolitan settings, including Cairns, Gympie, the Sunshine Coast, and Sydney.

Dr O'Brien completed her medical degree at the University of Queensland, graduating in 1996. To further her clinical expertise, she undertook specialised postgraduate training, obtaining her General Practice Fellowship in 2004. Demonstrating her commitment to paediatric care, she also completed a Diploma of Child Health through the University of Sydney in 2006. She maintains active professional memberships and regularly participates in continuing professional development to ensure her patients receive the highest standard of care.
