Dr. Joseph Sgroi

Dr Joseph Sgroi is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist specialising in IVF and infertility. He is based in Melbourne and currently practises at the following private hospitals and fertility clinics:

• Epworth Freemasons Hospital
• East Melbourne Specialist Day Hospital
• St Vincent's Private Hospital
• Frances Perry House

Dr Sgroi obtained his medical degree in 1998 from Monash University, Australia. He then completed a Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG). He later became a Member and a Fellow of the RANZCOG. He also completed a number of post-qualification fellowships at the following institutions:

• Fellow Royal Hospital for Women, Bangkok
• The Royal Women's Hospital, Sydney - Gynaecological Laparoscopic Fellowship
• Melbourne - IVF and Reproductive Endocrinology Fellowship
• Thai-German Multi-disciplinary Endoscopic Training Center Siriraj Hospital

He also completed a Master's degree in Reproductive Medicine.

In his current practice, Dr Sgroi provides care for patients struggling with conditions such as infertility, polycystic ovary syndrome and recurrent miscarriage. He also has a wealth of experience in advanced maternal age, egg freezing, laparoscopic surgery, surrogacy, and conception for single women and same sex couples.

Dr Sgroi utilises an holistic approach when providing care and strives assist women and couples achieve pregnancy, even in very difficult circumstances. He also provides support to women and couples through their pregnancy and childbirth in both natural and IVF cases.

Dr Sgroi is also the Director of Medical Oncall Locums and VConsult and is the Medical Director of CloudChair Cor Mentes Health Consultancy.
