Dr Joseph Morton

Dr Joseph Morton is a highly dedicated and reassuring Consultant Cardiologist who specialises in heart rhythm disorders and advanced cardiac care. As a Specialist in cardiac electrophysiology, Dr Morton possesses extensive expertise in the management of arrhythmias, palpitations, and atrial fibrillation. He is highly skilled in performing complex catheter ablations, as well as the insertion and ongoing management of pacemakers and defibrillators. His clinical interests also encompass the investigation of syncope, congenital arrhythmias, and sudden cardiac death syndromes. Through his work in cardiac pacing and resynchronisation therapy, Dr Morton aims to restore optimal heart function and significantly improve the quality of life for his patients.

Dr Morton qualified in 1992 after completing his medical degree at a prominent university in Melbourne. He subsequently undertook his residency and specialist cardiology training at a major teaching hospital, followed by a PhD focusing on atrial electrophysiology. To further refine his expertise, he completed a postdoctoral clinical fellowship at a renowned medical centre in Chicago, Illinois. Dr Morton is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) and a Fellow of the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand (FCSANZ). He has also been the recipient of a prestigious research scholarship from the National Heart Foundation.
