Dr Joseph Assad

Dr. Joseph Assad is a consultant cardiologist known for his expertise in heart rhythm disorders, cardiac devices, and heart failure. He completed his medical degree at Western Sydney University, and subsequently completed training in Cardiology at Liverpool Hospital. Dr. Assad further developed his skills through a subspecialty Fellowship in Electrophysiology and Pacing, complemented by a Masters of Internal Medicine from the University of Edinburgh.

Driven by a commitment to advancing cardiac care, Dr. Assad is currently engaged in a PhD program at the University of New South Wales, where he focuses on exploring the role of remote monitoring in managing heart failure.

In addition to his clinical and academic pursuits, Dr. Assad is deeply invested in education and mentorship. He holds a Conjoint Associate Lecturer position at both Western Sydney University and the University of New South Wales, where he shares his knowledge and experience with the next generation of medical professionals.

Dr. Assad's expertise covers a wide range of cardiac conditions, with a special emphasis on heart rhythm disorders, chest pain and coronary artery disease, shortness of breath, heart failure, preventative health, and risk factor modification. He also specialises in pre-operative cardiac risk assessment, syncope and collapse, as well as the management of pacemakers and defibrillators.

Currently, Dr. Assad holds appointments at Liverpool Hospital and Sydney South West Private Hospital, where he continues to provide exceptional care to his patients.
