Dr Joseph Amin

Dr Joseph Amin is a highly dedicated Consultant and Interventional Cardiologist who provides comprehensive cardiac care. He specialises in general cardiology and coronary interventions, with a strong focus on delivering patient-centred, evidence-based treatments. As a CTCA-accredited Specialist, Dr Amin possesses advanced expertise in cardiac CT imaging, including coronary artery calcium scoring and CT coronary angiography. His clinical approach is characterised by a commitment to reassuring his patients and ensuring they receive the highest standard of cardiovascular care.

Dr Amin completed his primary medical degree, obtaining his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MB BCh) in Cairo in 1995. He went on to earn a Master of Science in Cardiology in 2003. After relocating to Australia, he completed his postgraduate training and was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in 2010. To further refine his expertise in coronary interventions, he undertook dedicated Interventional Cardiology Fellowships at major Australian tertiary hospitals, gaining extensive hands-on experience in complex coronary procedures. He is an active Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Amin is deeply involved in clinical research and medical education. His research contributions include investigating the prevention of atrial fibrillation using atrial pacing following coronary artery bypass graft surgery, as well as evaluating the clinical impact of rapid-response protocols on treatment times for acute heart attacks. Passionate about mentoring the next generation of Physicians, he regularly presents at clinical forums on contemporary topics such as acute coronary syndrome management and antiplatelet therapy following angioplasty.
