Dr Jon Lam

Dr Jon Lam is a highly specialised Ophthalmologist, Vitreoretinal Surgeon, and Ocular Oncologist who provides comprehensive and compassionate eye care. Born and raised in Perth, he is dedicated to delivering advanced medical and surgical treatments for a wide range of complex eye conditions. Dr Lam has a particular interest in vitreoretinal surgery and the management of ocular tumours, combining cutting-edge clinical expertise with a reassuring, patient-centred approach.

Dr Lam completed his medical studies at the University of Western Australia, obtaining his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. He then undertook his general medical registration as a Doctor and completed his Specialist training programme in Western Australia. Dr Lam is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists. Committed to advancing his clinical skills, he completed a dedicated vitreoretinal fellowship in Western Australia, focusing on complex retinal diseases. Driven by a personal commitment to cancer care, he subsequently completed a prestigious ocular oncology fellowship at a world-renowned centre in the United Kingdom, where he gained highly specialised expertise in treating choroidal and retinal tumours.

In his clinical practice, Dr Lam manages a diverse spectrum of eye conditions, ranging from routine cataract surgeries to intricate vitreoretinal procedures. His areas of expertise include the treatment of retinal detachments, macular holes, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration, as well as the management of intraocular cancers such as choroidal melanoma. Dr Lam utilises advanced diagnostic imaging and therapeutic laser technologies to tailor treatment plans to each patient's unique needs. He is committed to providing accessible, high-quality care, regularly visiting regional areas to support local communities and collaborating closely with Optometrists to ensure seamless patient journeys.
