Dr John Curnow

Dr John Curnow is a dedicated and highly skilled General Practitioner who provides comprehensive healthcare services to the Jindabyne community in Australia. With a strong commitment to rural medicine, he delivers patient-centred care across a broad spectrum of medical needs. Dr Curnow has extensive experience in General Practice, Emergency Medicine, and Anaesthetics, allowing him to manage both routine health concerns and acute medical situations with a reassuring and professional approach.

Throughout his career, Dr Curnow has developed a diverse range of clinical interests to support patients at every stage of life. His practice encompasses family medicine, preventative health, and chronic complex care management. He is particularly skilled in injury management, occupational and sports medicine, as well as child and baby health. Additionally, Dr Curnow provides essential services in mental health support, immunisations, pregnancy care, and both women's and men's health, ensuring that individuals and families receive holistic and continuous care.

Dr Curnow completed his medical training at the University of Newcastle, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine in 1999. Committed to advancing his skills in rural healthcare, he also obtained a Graduate Diploma in Rural General Practice and holds a qualification in Rural Generalist Anaesthetics. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. Beyond his clinical practice, Dr Curnow is actively involved in the medical community as an accredited Supervisor for General Practice Registrars. He also contributes to the development of rural medicine through his roles as a Board Member of the Rural Doctors Network of New South Wales and as a long-standing Committee Member and former Treasurer of the Rural Doctors Association of New South Wales.
