Dr Joanne Ma

Dr Joanne Ma is a dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner who is committed to providing high-quality, comprehensive healthcare to individuals and families. With a patient-centred approach, she focuses on delivering personalised care that addresses the unique physical and emotional needs of each patient. Dr Ma believes in fostering long-term relationships with her patients, encouraging continuity of care and promoting preventative health strategies to support overall well-being.

Dr Ma completed her Bachelor of Medicine (BMed) at the University of Newcastle, graduating in 2008. Following her graduation, she gained diverse clinical experience working across various medical departments, including emergency medicine, general surgery, urology, neurology, gastroenterology, haematology, rehabilitation medicine, obstetrics, gynaecology, and paediatrics. To further her expertise, she undertook specialised training in family medicine and achieved fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) in 2013.

Throughout her career, Dr Ma has developed a strong interest in women's health and early childhood medicine. She provides comprehensive support for women at all stages of life, offering services such as prenatal and postnatal care, antenatal shared care with major hospitals, and the management of conditions like endometriosis, painful periods, and infertility. In early childhood care, she assists families with childhood immunisations, developmental and behavioural assessments, allergy management, and sleep and nutrition advice. Additionally, she is skilled in performing minor clinical procedures, including the insertion and removal of contraceptive implants, skin lesion removals, and cryotherapy.
