Dr Joan Ricketts

Dr Joan Ricketts is a dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner who provides comprehensive, patient-centred care. With a clinical approach focused on empathy and thoroughness, she is committed to supporting individuals and families through all stages of life. Dr Ricketts believes in fostering strong, collaborative relationships with her patients, ensuring they feel heard, valued, and actively involved in their healthcare journeys.

Originally from Scotland, Dr Ricketts completed her medical education at Glasgow University, graduating with her medical degree in 2004. Following her graduation, she gained diverse clinical experience working across Glasgow, Melbourne, London, and Argentina, before relocating to Sydney to focus on general practice. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and holds professional membership with the Royal College of General Practitioners in the United Kingdom.

Throughout her career, Dr Ricketts has developed a broad range of clinical interests, with a particular focus on women's and children's health. She is highly skilled in providing antenatal shared care, cervical screening, and contraceptive procedures, including Implanon insertion and removal, as well as Mirena removal. Her practice also encompasses chronic disease management, mental health services, travel medicine, and sexual health, allowing her to deliver holistic and preventative care tailored to the unique needs of each patient.
