Dr Jayne Smart

Dr Jayne Smart is a highly dedicated General Paediatrician and Developmental Paediatrician who provides comprehensive care for infants, children, and adolescents. She specialises in managing a diverse range of medical, developmental, and behavioural concerns from birth through to the teenage years. With a reassuring and family-centred approach, Dr Smart is committed to working collaboratively with parents, educators, and multidisciplinary allied health teams to support each child's unique growth and development.

Her clinical interests span several key areas of paediatric medicine. Dr Smart has extensive expertise in assessing and managing developmental, behavioural, and learning difficulties, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Additionally, she is highly skilled in treating paediatric allergy conditions, such as food allergies, asthma, eczema, and allergic rhinitis, as well as addressing childhood continence, bedwetting, and toileting challenges.

Dr Smart obtained her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with Honours from the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne in England in 1994. After relocating to Melbourne, she completed her specialist paediatric training at a major children's hospital in 2008, followed by a specialised paediatric allergy training programme in 2011. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and holds professional membership with the Australasian Society of Clinical Immunology and Allergy.
