Dr Janice Newton

Dr Janice Newton is a dedicated and highly experienced General Practitioner who provides comprehensive primary care to patients of all ages. With a compassionate and patient-centred approach, she is committed to delivering high-quality family medicine. Her diverse medical background, which includes international clinical postings, allows her to bring a global perspective and a deeply personal touch to her clinical practice.

Dr Newton graduated with Honours from The University of Sydney in 1982, earning her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. She also holds a Diploma of the Royal Australian College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. In addition to her medical qualifications, she serves the community as a Justice of the Peace. Her extensive training and professional development ensure she remains at the forefront of general practice standards.

Throughout her career, Dr Newton has developed particular expertise in women's health, geriatric medicine, and antenatal shared care. She is actively involved in regional antenatal shared care programmes and provides dedicated medical support to residents in local nursing homes, as well as admitting acute patients to local private hospital facilities. Her clinical focus also encompasses chronic disease management, preventative care, and palliative care, ensuring that patients receive continuous and supportive treatment through every stage of life.
