Dr Jane Tovey

Dr Jane Tovey is a highly qualified Consultant Psychiatrist based in Melbourne, Australia. She provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care, utilising a range of therapeutic modalities to support her patients. Dr Tovey is dedicated to delivering compassionate, patient-centred care, with a particular focus on adult general psychiatry and trauma-informed psychotherapy. In addition to her face-to-face consultations, she also offers telepsychiatry services to ensure accessible mental health support.

Dr Tovey completed her medical training in Melbourne and the United Kingdom. She obtained her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Melbourne in 1986, followed by a Master of Psychological Medicine from Monash University. She was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists in 1995. Alongside her clinical practice, Dr Tovey is actively involved in medical education and leadership. She serves as an Honorary Lecturer at the University of Melbourne and is a member of a professorial psychiatry unit. She has also held key leadership roles, including serving as the Director of an Outreach Service and Deputy Chair of a Medical Advisory Committee.
