Dr James Nadel

Dr James Nadel is a highly accomplished Consultant Cardiologist and Cardiac Imaging Specialist who is dedicated to providing comprehensive, patient-centred cardiovascular care. With a strong focus on non-invasive diagnostic techniques, he specialises in identifying and managing a wide range of heart conditions. His clinical interests encompass general cardiology, heart failure, atherosclerosis, aortopathy, cardiac sarcoidosis, and cardiovascular health in patients living with HIV. Dr Nadel is committed to utilising advanced imaging technologies to deliver precise diagnoses and tailored treatment plans that support his patients' long-term well-being.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Nadel is an active researcher who contributes to the advancement of cardiovascular medicine. His research focuses on developing innovative diagnostic and treatment tools to detect vulnerable atherosclerotic plaques before they cause heart attacks or strokes. He has been awarded prestigious scholarships from prominent national health organisations to support his doctoral studies, which investigate the role of inflammatory enzymes in arterial disease. Dr Nadel regularly presents his findings at national and international conferences and has received global recognition, including a prestigious young investigator award, for his contributions to cardiac imaging science.

Dr Nadel completed his medical degree at the University of Notre Dame, graduating with first-class honours. He subsequently undertook specialist training in cardiology, completing his advanced training in 2020, during which he was recognised with an award for clinical excellence. He also holds a Master of Medicine and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from the University of New South Wales. To further refine his expertise, Dr Nadel completed a post-doctoral international fellowship in advanced cardiac imaging in London. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) and maintains active memberships with several leading international cardiovascular societies.
