Dr James Mcdougall

Dr James McDougall is a dedicated and highly skilled General Practitioner based in Bundall, Australia. With a patient-centred approach to healthcare, he is committed to providing comprehensive and compassionate medical care to individuals and families within the community. Dr McDougall was born and raised on the Gold Coast and initially began his professional career as an Exercise Physiologist. He completed his medical degree at Bond University in 2012. His extensive academic and professional qualifications include a Bachelor of Health Science (BHSc), a Master of Sports Science (MSPSC), a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, and a Diploma of Sports Medicine (Dip SpMed). Furthermore, he is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP). Dr McDougall also undertook extensive training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery throughout Queensland, specialising in skin cancer treatment, trauma, and chronic wounds.

In addition to family medicine, Dr McDougall has developed key clinical interests in the early detection and management of skin cancer, including performing skin checks, biopsies, and excisions. His background in sports science and exercise physiology feeds into his passion for sports medicine, focusing on injury prevention and treatment. This expertise is further demonstrated through his role as a Team Doctor for the Gold Coast Suns AFL team. He is also highly focused on paediatric care and men's health, ensuring a holistic approach to his patients' physical well-being.
