Dr James Anderson

Dr James Anderson is a highly dedicated Respiratory and Sleep Medicine Physician who provides comprehensive care for patients experiencing a wide range of lung and sleep-related conditions. With a patient-centred approach, Dr Anderson focuses on delivering personalised treatment plans that address both acute and chronic respiratory issues. He is committed to helping individuals achieve better lung health and improved sleep quality, ensuring they receive the highest standard of clinical care.

Dr Anderson completed his undergraduate studies, earning a Bachelor of Science, before obtaining his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Queensland in 2008. He undertook extensive specialist training in respiratory and sleep medicine, culminating in his admission as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2017. To further his expertise, he completed a dedicated fellowship in sleep and respiratory failure, and he is currently pursuing a Master of Biostatistics to support his ongoing research in sleep disorders. Dr Anderson also contributes to the education of future medical professionals as a Senior Lecturer.

In his clinical practice, Dr Anderson manages the full spectrum of respiratory and sleep disorders. He has a particular clinical interest in pulmonary vascular diseases, including pulmonary hypertension and pulmonary embolism, and has led specialised clinical units in these areas. His expertise also encompasses the investigation and management of lung cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, asthma, pulmonary nodules, and interstitial lung disease. Additionally, Dr Anderson is highly skilled in performing advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, such as bronchoscopy and pleural interventions, to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective management for his patients.
