Dr Himanshu Desai

Dr Himanshu Desai is a highly regarded Cardiothoracic Surgeon who provides compassionate, patient-centred care. Dr Desai completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at Gujarat University, India, in 1979. He subsequently obtained his Master of Surgery (MCh) in Cardiothoracic Surgery from a premier medical institute in New Delhi in 1987. To further expand his international expertise, he undertook a two-year clinical fellowship in the United States in 1993. Dr Desai achieved fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2003, reflecting his high standards of clinical excellence and dedication to his field.

Throughout his career, Dr Desai has developed a particular clinical interest in aortic surgery, coronary revascularisation, and adult valvular heart surgery. He is also highly skilled in thoracic surgery, including modern video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS), as well as pacemaker and automatic implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (AICD) implantation.
