His academic and professional journey subsequently took him to the United Kingdom, where he completed further medical studies in Leeds and Cambridge. Upon returning to Australia, Dr Ward transitioned into country General Practice, which sparked his lifelong passion for community-based family medicine, followed by focused work in sports medicine and holistic primary care.
