Dr Fiona Chan

Dr Fiona Chan is a highly qualified Consultant Ophthalmologist who provides comprehensive, patient-centred eye care. Specialising in general adult ophthalmology, Dr Chan is dedicated to delivering tailored treatment plans that address both routine and complex vision concerns. Her clinical practice is characterised by a thorough approach to patient care, with a strong emphasis on clear communication, individualised risk assessment, and the long-term monitoring of chronic ocular conditions.

With a broad range of clinical interests, Dr Chan focuses particularly on the management of cataract cases, glaucoma, and macular degeneration. She has extensive experience in evaluating glaucoma suspects and managing ocular hypertension, as well as treating mild to moderate glaucoma. Additionally, Dr Chan provides expert care for patients with age-related macular degeneration and diabetic eye disease, utilising evidence-based medical management to preserve and protect her patients' vision.

Dr Chan completed her medical degree at The University of Queensland, graduating with First Class Honours in 1997. Following her graduation, she undertook her residency training in Brisbane before embarking on specialist training in Queensland in 2003. She qualified as a Specialist Ophthalmologist in 2007, having served as a Senior Registrar during her final year of training. Dr Chan is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr Chan is actively involved in medical education and professional development. She regularly contributes to ophthalmology workshops for General Practitioner Registrars and delivers educational lectures for Optometrists, sharing her expertise to improve community eye care standards.
