Dr Edward Giles serves as a consultant paediatric gastroenterologist at the Royal Children’s Hospital and both Monash Children’s Hospital where he leads the paediatric Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) program.
Dr Giles holds roles as a Research Fellow at the Hudson Institute of Medical Research and Monash University where his research spans various domains of mucosal immunology, particularly in relation to paediatrics and IBD. Additionally, he actively contributes to the research committee of the Gastroenterological Society of Australia.
Dr Giles received training at the University of Melbourne, the Royal Children’s Hospital, and multiple hospitals in London. He previously held a consultant position at the Royal London Hospital before relocating to Melbourne in early 2016.
