Dr Douglas Warne

Dr Douglas Warne is a highly dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner who provides comprehensive healthcare to patients in Northern New South Wales. With a patient-centred approach, he is committed to delivering personalised care that ensures every individual feels heard, respected, and well-informed about their health. Dr Warne has extensive experience across all facets of general practice, offering a reassuring and professional presence to the local community.

Dr Warne graduated with Honours from Newcastle University in 1991. He holds several postgraduate qualifications, including a Diploma of Paediatrics and a Diploma of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and a Fellow of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine. Demonstrating a strong commitment to medical education and mentoring the next generation of rural doctors, he serves as a Supervisor of Registrar Training and has been appointed as the Regional Academic Leader for the University of Wollongong Graduate School of Medicine.

Throughout his career, Dr Warne has developed diverse clinical interests, with a particular focus on paediatrics, obstetrics, allergy management, travel medicine, and chronic disease management. He is also highly skilled in performing comprehensive skin checks and skin cancer excisions, and is accredited to administer both Yellow Fever and Q Fever vaccinations. His dedication to public health is further highlighted by his past roles as the Tweed Valley Immunisation Project Manager and as a General Practice Representative on the National Immunisation Committee. Outside of his medical practice, Dr Warne is an active participant in local sporting and cultural groups, enjoying surfing, bushwalking, and soccer.
