Dr Douglas Barrow

Dr Douglas Barrow is a highly dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner who provides comprehensive primary care to patients on the Central Coast of New South Wales. With a patient-centred approach, Dr Barrow focuses on delivering high-quality, reassuring, and personalised medical care. He is committed to supporting individuals and families through all stages of life, ensuring that every patient receives the guidance and treatment necessary to maintain optimal health and well-being.

Dr Barrow completed his medical education at the University of New South Wales, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in 1981. Following his graduation, he completed his internship and residency at a major tertiary referral hospital in Sydney and its associated healthcare facilities. He went on to complete the Family Medicine Programme with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) in 1984, establishing a strong foundation for his career in primary care. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and has also served as an accredited Visiting Medical Officer General Practitioner within the local public health system.

Throughout his career, which commenced in General Practice in 1986, Dr Barrow has developed a broad range of clinical interests. He is particularly passionate about preventative care, health assessments, men's health, and seniors' health services. Additionally, he provides expert guidance in travel medicine and travel vaccinations. Outside of his clinical practice, Dr Barrow enjoys water sports, golf, and travel, and has been actively involved in community volunteer work with maritime heritage organisations.
