Dr Diana Makeran

Dr Diana Makeran is a dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner who provides comprehensive, holistic healthcare to her patients. With a strong commitment to treating each patient as an individual, she strives to achieve the highest level of patient satisfaction through empathetic and personalised care. Originally from the Pacific island nation of Kiribati, Dr Makeran has a deep passion for improving community health and supporting those in need, bringing a warm and reassuring approach to her daily medical practice.

Dr Makeran obtained her medical degree from the University of Adelaide in 2002. To further her expertise in children's health, she completed a Diploma of Paediatrics at Auckland University while gaining clinical experience in hospital settings. Her commitment to professional excellence is demonstrated by her dual fellowships; she successfully passed her exams for the Fellowship of the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners in 2005 and went on to achieve her Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2012. Additionally, she has served as a Medical Superintendent within an Indigenous community, reflecting her dedication to diverse and underserved populations.

Throughout her career, Dr Makeran has developed a diverse range of clinical interests, with a particular focus on women's health, reproductive medicine, and chronic disease management. She is highly skilled in performing specialised procedures, including Mirena and Implanon insertions and removals. Her broad expertise also encompasses antenatal and post-natal care, cardiovascular risk assessments, asthma care, and diabetes management. Additionally, she is experienced in addressing complex conditions such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), endometriosis, irritable bowel syndrome, food intolerances, and coeliac disease, ensuring her patients receive thorough and well-rounded medical support.
