Dr Dervila Holmes

Dr Dervila Holmes is a dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner who is committed to providing comprehensive, patient-centred care. Originally from the west of Ireland, she brings a wealth of international experience to her clinical practice. Dr Holmes believes in building strong, collaborative relationships with her patients, taking the time to listen to their concerns and develop personalised treatment plans that empower them to achieve their health and wellness goals.

Dr Holmes qualified as a Medical Doctor in 2000, earning her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, and Bachelor of the Art of Obstetrics (MB BCh BAO). She went on to achieve several postgraduate qualifications, including a Diploma in Child Health (DCH), a Diploma in Medicine for the Elderly (DME), and a Diploma in Dermatology. In 2006, she became a member of the Irish College of General Practitioners (MICGP). Dr Holmes has been practising as a General Practitioner in Australia since 2015, maintaining a high standard of evidence-based clinical care.

With a broad range of clinical expertise, Dr Holmes has developed several key areas of interest within General Practice. She specialises in women's health and menopause management, including the insertion and removal of contraceptive devices such as Implanon and intrauterine devices (IUDs). Additionally, she is passionate about lifestyle medicine and weight management, as well as mental health, where she regularly assists patients by creating comprehensive mental health care plans. Her diverse skillset also encompasses dermatology, including thorough skin checks, as well as musculoskeletal and sports medicine.
