Dr. David Youssef

Dr. David Youssef is a highly dedicated and compassionate Paediatric Cardiologist who specialises in diagnosing and managing complex heart conditions in infants, children, and adolescents. With a clinical focus on paediatric pulmonary hypertension and advanced cardiac imaging, he is committed to providing family-centred, evidence-based care. Dr. Youssef works collaboratively with families and referring practitioners to ensure that young patients receive the highest standard of cardiac support, combining clinical excellence with a reassuring and transparent communication style.

Dr. Youssef began his professional journey by earning a Bachelor of Pharmacy from the University of Sydney in 2004, initially working as a registered clinical Pharmacist. Driven by a passion for medicine, he went on to complete his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at Griffith University in 2010. He also holds a Diploma of Child Health from the University of Sydney and is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP). To further refine his expertise, Dr. Youssef completed advanced fellowship training in paediatric echocardiography, three-dimensional imaging, and paediatric pulmonary hypertension at a renowned specialist children's hospital in Canada in 2020.

Throughout his career, Dr. Youssef has gained extensive clinical experience across several major hospitals. He has been instrumental in leading innovative clinical initiatives, including a multidisciplinary pilot programme for paediatric pulmonary hypertension and the development of a specialised clinic for graduates of neonatal intensive care units. His clinical interests encompass a wide range of paediatric cardiac concerns, including congenital heart disease, heart murmurs, chest pain, fainting, and rhythm disturbances. Dr. Youssef is also actively involved in research and medical education, contributing to the advancement of paediatric cardiology therapies and training the next generation of medical professionals.
