Dr David Samra

Dr David Samra is a highly qualified Consultant Sport and Exercise Medicine Physician based in Leichhardt, Australia. He specialises in the non-surgical management of musculoskeletal injuries, arthritis, and tendon disorders, providing comprehensive care for patients of all ages, fitness levels, and backgrounds. Dr Samra is dedicated to helping active individuals and elite athletes recover from injury, manage chronic pain, and safely return to their physical pursuits through accurate diagnosis and holistic, evidence-based care.

With a strong foundation in both sports medicine and metabolic health, Dr Samra offers a diverse range of clinical services. His areas of interest include the management of osteoarthritis, tendon pain, muscle tears, stress fractures, and concussion. He is skilled in delivering advanced non-surgical treatments, such as ultrasound-guided injection therapies, shockwave therapy, and compartment pressure testing. Additionally, Dr Samra has a keen interest in metabolic and longevity medicine, utilising individualised exercise prescription, dietary optimisation, and medically supervised weight loss to help patients extend their physical and cognitive healthspan.

Dr Samra completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with First Class Honours at the University of Sydney, having previously graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Physiotherapy from the same institution. He attained his specialist Fellowship with the Australasian College of Sport and Exercise Physicians in 2019. His further credentials include an Emergency Medicine Certificate and a Certificate in Clinician Performed Ultrasound. Dr Samra is an active member of Sports Medicine Australia, the Australian Resuscitation Council, and the Australian Medical Association, and serves as a Clinical Lecturer at the University of Sydney.
