Dr David Michail

Dr David Michail is a highly accomplished Respiratory and Sleep Medicine Physician who provides comprehensive, patient-centred care for a wide range of thoracic and sleep-related conditions. With a reassuring and professional approach, he specialises in diagnosing and managing complex respiratory disorders, including lung cancer, interstitial lung disease, and pulmonary hypertension. Dr Michail is also deeply committed to the field of sleep medicine, offering expert care for patients experiencing obstructive sleep apnoea, central sleep apnoea, and narcolepsy. His clinical practice is dedicated to improving patient outcomes through precise diagnostics and tailored treatment pathways.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Michail holds several prominent leadership and advisory roles within the medical community. He serves as the Director of a dedicated pulmonary hypertension service and acts as the Clinical Lead for bronchoscopy and interventional respiratory medicine at a major public hospital. He also chairs a multidisciplinary lung cancer tumour board and is an active member of a clinical trials programme focused on respiratory research. Dr Michail obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Adelaide, qualifying in 1996.
