Dr Finian Walsh graduated from James Cook University in 2014, earning his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP), reflecting his commitment to maintaining the highest standards of clinical excellence in primary care.

Prior to entering general practice, Dr Finian Walsh built a diverse clinical foundation. He began his medical career at a major regional hospital, gaining valuable experience in emergency medicine, anaesthetics, adult general medicine, cardiology, and paediatrics. He also dedicated time to working in rural clinics, which deepened his understanding of community health needs. Later, he relocated to a coastal region, where he worked at a tertiary hospital focusing on adult general medicine and respiratory care, further refining his clinical expertise.
