Mr Dan Lenaghan is a Melbourne surgeon practising in General Urology, Uro-oncology and Endourology. When surgery is the best option, endourological techniques allow most patients to be treated either without the need for an incision, by use of a laser or by laparoscopic ���keyhole��� surgery, with or without robot assistance.
Mr Lenaghan also holds the position of Surgical Education and Training Supervisor for urology trainees at St Vincent's Public Hospital. In addition, he lectures for the University of Melbourne and is an undergraduate supervisor for medical students at the University of Notre Dame.
After finishing dux of his year at high school, Mr Lenaghan studied Arts and Medicine at the University of Melbourne, graduating with Honours. After completing basic surgical training, he moved to New South Wales in order to undertake advanced training in Urology. After returning to St Vincent's in Melbourne he then took a valuable opportunity to work for 12 months as a Clinical Fellow in Endourology and Oncology at Stepping Hill Hospital, Manchester, UK. This world-class unit has a large experience in advanced laparoscopic surgery, and has pioneered new techniques in minimally invasive stone surgery.
Mr Lenaghan is a second-generation Urologist. His father was a highly respected surgeon and held the presidency of the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand.
