Dr Claire Toohey

Dr Claire Toohey is a dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner who provides comprehensive healthcare to patients at all stages of life. Adopting a holistic approach to health and wellbeing, she is committed to partnering with individuals and families to achieve optimal health outcomes. Her reassuring manner and thorough clinical approach ensure that patients receive personalised care tailored to their unique needs.

With a strong focus on family medicine, Dr Toohey has developed a particular interest in women's health, encompassing pre-conception care, pregnancy, and parenthood. She is highly experienced in providing obstetric Shared Care, collaborating closely with maternity hospitals to support women throughout their pregnancy journeys. Her clinical expertise also extends to general family medicine, where she enjoys supporting patients through diverse health challenges and life stages.

Dr Toohey completed her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at the University of Melbourne in 2004. Following her graduation, she undertook extensive hospital training, including a year dedicated to obstetrics and gynaecology, which culminated in a Diploma of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (DRANZCOG). She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) and actively contributes to the medical community as an Examiner for the college. Her professional journey includes clinical practice in regional areas as well as various metropolitan settings.
