About Professor Chris Bladin

Professor Chris Bladin is a highly experienced neurologist working with Neurology Network Melbourne. He is also involved with stroke telemedicine and is the clinical lead of the Victorian Stroke Telemedicine Program. His other special interests are in stroke thrombolysis and acute brain imaging.

Professor Bladin achieved his medical degree in 1983 before going on to complete specialist neurology training at the Austin Hospital. He was then awarded a stroke research fellowship which he completed at Guy's Hospital, London, followed by a further stroke research fellowship at the University of Toronto, Canada. Professor Bladin then spent time working at the Austin Hospital before joining Box Hill Hospital where he later became the director of neurosciences.

Professor Bladin has been the medical director of the National Stroke Foundation of Australia since 2005 and is also the Chairperson of the DHS Victorian Stroke Clinical Network Committee. He also founded the VicStroke project which delivers stroke telemedicine to hospitals around Victoria.
