Dr Chong Han Lim

Dr Chong Han Lim is a highly qualified and compassionate Palliative Medicine Physician and General Practitioner who is dedicated to providing holistic, patient-centred care. He believes that palliative care is not merely about a person's final days or months, but rather about enhancing the quality of life in the years leading up to that stage. Dr Lim aims to support patients and their families within the community from the moment a chronic or life-limiting illness becomes advanced, ensuring comfort, dignity, and comprehensive support throughout their healthcare journey.

Dr Lim completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Adelaide, graduating in 2009. He went on to complete his specialist General Practice training in rural South Australia, obtaining his specialist qualification in 2014. Driven by a commitment to complex patient care, he undertook advanced training in Adelaide, completing fellowships in both palliative care and chronic pain management, receiving his chronic pain fellowship in 2024. Dr Lim holds several prestigious professional memberships, including being a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, a Fellow of Advanced Rural General Practice, a Fellow of the Australasian Chapter of Palliative Medicine, and a Fellow of the Faculty of Pain Medicine, Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists. He also holds a Diploma in Child Health and a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Dermatology.

With a diverse clinical background, Dr Lim possesses advanced skills across multiple medical disciplines. In addition to his dual specialisation in Palliative Medicine and Pain Medicine, his clinical interests encompass dermatology, children's health, mental health, and aesthetic medicine. He is also highly skilled in performing minor surgical procedures and has a strong background in rural medicine. Alongside his clinical practice, Dr Lim is passionate about medical education, actively teaching registrars and serving as an Examiner for the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
