A/Prof Carlo Pulitano

A/Prof. Pulitano is a highly regarded General Surgeon. They graduated from medical school in Milan and undertook six years of general surgical training in Milan, Paris and Edinburgh. A/Prof. Pulitano moved to Sydney in 2011 for a clinical fellowship. This was followed by a PhD at the University of Sydney.

To further their surgical expertise, A/Prof. Pulitano completed a second fellowship in Hepato-Pancreatico-Biliary and Organ Transplantation Surgery in Canada. They were subsequently appointed as a consultant and associate professor. A/Prof. Pulitano has authored over 115 peer-reviewed articles and received in excess of 18 awards, including the most prestigious award of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.

A/Prof. Pulitano's areas of research include liver, gallbladder, pancreatic and neuroendocrine tumours, transplantation, and surgical techniques. They are the director of the RPA Translation Centre for Organ Assessment, Repair, and Optimisation and Centre for Advanced Research in Liver Pancreas and Biliary Surgery. They are also one of the doctors responsible for the transplant oncology programme.
