Dr Paul Chen

Dr. Paul Chen is a specialist Breast, Endocrine and General Surgeon with extensive experience in oncoplastic breast surgery, thyroid and parathyroid surgery with the utilisation of nerve monitoring.

Dr. Chen undertook his surgical training at St Vincent’s Hospital and Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney after graduating from the University of Auckland with his medical degree. Following this, he underwent post-fellowship training with BreastSurgANZ in oncoplastics breast and endocrine surgery at high volume centres in Perth and Melbourne. As part of his ongoing development, he also completed further training with world renowned oncoplastics breast surgeons in France and Italy.

In addition to his other professional qualifications, he also completed a Masters of Surgery in Oncoplastics Breast Surgery in 2018 and was awarded the John Lowenthal Medal for research from the University of Sydney. Dr. Chen is active in research and has been widely published in surgical peer reviewed journals as well as having presented internationally. He is also a keen educator and participates in teaching and mentorship for surgical trainees.

Dr. Chen is the chief surgeon at Oncoplastic Surgical Centre, offering a range of breast and endocrine surgeries as well as general surgical options including hernia repair, gall bladder surgery and endoscopy.

Dr. Chen is fluent in English, Taiwanese and Mandarin.
