Dr Benjamin Wakefield

Dr Benjamin Wakefield is a highly qualified General Practitioner who brings a wealth of experience in rural medicine and mental health to his clinical practice. With a dual focus on general medicine and psychiatry, he provides comprehensive, patient-centred care. Dr Wakefield is dedicated to supporting individuals through all stages of their health journeys, offering a compassionate and reassuring approach that helps patients feel at ease.

Dr Wakefield graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from Griffith University in 2013. He has since built an impressive portfolio of postgraduate qualifications, including a Master of Public Health, as well as further studies in medical administration and clinical leadership. He holds fellowships with both the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners as a Rural Generalist and the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists. Additionally, he is an active member of the Australian Medical Association.

Throughout his career, Dr Wakefield has worked extensively in both public and private healthcare settings, including serving in clinical leadership roles and as a Medical Officer in the Army Reserve. His unique background allows him to address complex physical and mental health conditions. His clinical interests span a wide range of general practice services, with a particular focus on mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.
