Dr Arthur Nasis

Dr Arthur Nasis is a highly accomplished Consultant Cardiologist and Cardiac Imaging Specialist based in Melbourne, Australia. He holds prominent leadership and academic roles, serving as a Director of Acute Cardiac Services and a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine. Dr Nasis is dedicated to providing comprehensive, patient-centred care, with a focus on the early detection of cardiovascular disease and the implementation of advanced diagnostic pathways to improve patient outcomes.

As an internationally trained Specialist, Dr Nasis possesses extensive expertise in all aspects of clinical cardiology, cardiac risk assessment, and non-invasive cardiac imaging. His clinical work is characterised by a deep interest in the evolving role of imaging in diagnosing coronary artery disease and assessing cardiovascular risk. He has vast experience in interpreting complex diagnostic investigations, including resting and stress echocardiograms, cardiac computed tomography (CT) coronary angiograms, and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans. His translational research has directly contributed to the design of innovative care pathways, particularly for patients presenting with chest pain.

Dr Nasis graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with Honours in 2003. He completed his basic physician training and advanced cardiology training in Melbourne, before undertaking a Doctor of Medicine and a Doctor of Philosophy at Monash University, focusing on advanced cardiac imaging technologies. He subsequently completed a postdoctoral research programme in the United Kingdom, where he received specialised training in cardiac MRI. Dr Nasis obtained his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2010. He is also a Fellow of the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand, and holds professional memberships with the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography and the Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance.
