Dr Arshad Barmare

Dr Arshad Barmare is a Melbourne-based orthopaedic surgeon. His private practice focuses on joint replacement, sports injuries, and trauma, and he has a special interest in arthroscopic reconstructive surgery of joint conditions such as:

• Knee ACL tears
• Shoulder Dislocations and labral tears,
• Rotator cuff tears,
• Complex Shoulder Hip and Knee Reconstructive Surgeries and Replacements.

His goal is to provide his patients with comprehensive, evidence-based treatment and to improve their quality of life using low-risk treatment. He strongly believes in trying non-operative treatments for common orthopaedic problems before considering surgery.

Dr Barmare trained in India and earned his degree in 1992. He then undertook advanced orthopaedic training in Singapore and Australia and obtained a master's degree in orthopaedics from the National University of Singapore in 2005. In 2010, he gained his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, and he was elected as a fellow of the Australian Orthopaedic Association in 2014. Additionally, he is a certified independent medical examiner by the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners.
