Dr Antony Lau

Dr Antony Lau is a highly accomplished Consultant Cardiologist and Interventional Cardiologist who provides comprehensive care for patients experiencing all forms of cardiovascular disease. With a reassuring and patient-centred approach, he specialises in managing complex cardiac conditions and performing advanced coronary interventions. Dr Lau is dedicated to delivering evidence-based, personalised treatment plans that focus on both the management of acute issues and the long-term optimisation of heart health.

Dr Lau obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with Honours from the University of Sydney, qualifying in 1992. He subsequently completed his specialist Cardiology training across several major tertiary referral hospitals in Sydney. Furthering his academic and clinical expertise, he earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from the University of Sydney, focusing his doctoral research on the pathophysiology and prevention of atherosclerosis and restenosis. Dr Lau is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) and holds prestigious professional memberships as a Fellow of the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand (FCSANZ), a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC), a Fellow of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (FSCAI), and a Fellow of the American Heart Association (FAHA).

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Lau is actively involved in medical education and cardiovascular research. He serves as a Conjoint Senior Lecturer and is an examiner for professional medical colleges, contributing to the training of future Medical Practitioners. His clinical and research interests encompass a broad spectrum of Cardiology, including hyperlipidaemia, difficult hypertension, heart failure, arrhythmias, and coronary and valvular heart disease. He is highly skilled in diagnostic and interventional procedures, utilising advanced techniques such as coronary angiography, stenting, and various forms of echocardiography to ensure precise diagnoses and optimal patient outcomes.
