Dr Smith is a strong advocate for clinical trials and local research, ensuring their patients have access to the latest treatment options close to home.

Dr Smith maintains an active interest in clinical trials, medical education and research. Alongside their clinical work and tutoring, they regularly reviews publications for peer reviewed journals and organises formal training events for medical oncology registrars. Dr Smith also completed a clinical trials and research fellowship where they were directly involved in the care of numerous clinical trial patients. Outside of work, Dr Smith is a surf life saver and outdoors enthusiast.
