Dr Anil Arora is an experienced ophthalmologist who has been treating patients in Central Coast and Sydney since 1998. After obtaining his medical degree from the University of Sydney in 1985, Dr Arora underwent internship and residency training at prestigious hospitals such as Royal North Shore, Westmead and Royal Prince Alfred Hospitals. He went on to specialise in ophthalmology and was one of the first students to complete a Masters of Medicine in Ophthalmology with a thesis on retinal electrophysiology. Dr Arora completed five years of specialist training in ophthalmology from the Sydney Eye Hospital from 1988 to 1993.
In 1997 – 1998, Dr Arora completed a clinical fellowship in “Diseases and Surgery of the Retina and Vitreous” from the University of Texas in Houston. Since returning to Australia, he has established himself as a respected ophthalmologist who has performed surgeries on tens of thousands of patients. Dr Arora was also instrumental in bringing retinal surgery to the Central Coast, meaning patients no longer had to travel to Sydney for these procedures.
Dr Arora also recognised the need for laser vision correction services on the Central Coast and completed further postgraduate training in laser refractive surgery. He was one of the first to obtain a Graduate Diploma in Medicine (Refractive Surgery) from the University of Sydney and established the Laser Vision Clinic Central Coast – a state-of-the-art laser refractive centre on the Central Coast.
Dr Arora has practices in Gosford, Long Jetty, Woy Woy and Wahroonga and is a Visiting Medical Officer at several hospitals, including the Central Coast Day Hospital, Brisbane Waters Private Hospital, Sydney Adventist Hospital, Gosford Public Hospital and Wyong Public Hospital. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists, American Academy of Ophthalmology and American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. Dr Arora's clinical interests include cataract surgery, particularly with multifocal intraocular lenses, retinal diseases and surgery, and laser refractive surgery.

Dr Arora explained everything to me prior to surgery. The procedure was seamless, so much so I went back 2 weeks later and had my other eye done. Staff at San Day Surgery and Dr Arora’s staff were also wonderful. Would highly recommend him to anyone requiring cataract surgery performed.

I have had many surgeries however was apprehensive getting eye surgery. Had a lot of anxiety leading up to it. Dr Arora explained the procedure from the beginning and expectations what to expect. Central coast day hospital were fantastic alongside the anthasesiast Dr Sousalis For those who are contemplating please do not hesitate, you don't feel any pain whilst having the procedure. When I woke the next morning my vision was 10/10 I could see colours that I have never seen before and everything in the world was so visible and I felt excited how better my vision will be when I get my left eye done in 2 weeks.
