Dr Aneel Raj

Dr Aneel Raj is a highly dedicated Consultant Psychiatrist who provides compassionate, patient-centred care to adults facing complex mental health challenges. He is deeply passionate about delivering holistic care in a collaborative and non-judgemental manner, ensuring that patients and their families feel supported throughout their recovery journey. Drawing on extensive experience across both public and private mental health services, Dr Raj tailors his clinical approach to meet the unique needs of each individual.

In his clinical practice, Dr Raj focuses on a broad range of psychiatric conditions. His areas of clinical interest include general adult psychiatry, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and psychotic disorders. He also has a strong focus on women's mental health and the treatment of trauma-related disorders, including complex post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Additionally, he is experienced in hospital-in-the-home treatment models, which allow patients to receive intensive psychiatric care in the comfort of their own environments.

Dr Raj completed his medical training with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), followed by a Doctor of Medicine (MD) and a Diplomate of National Board (DNB) in Psychiatry. He also completed a post-doctoral fellowship in community mental health. Dr Raj is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP). Committed to advancing the field of mental health and training the next generation of medical professionals, he also serves as an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Griffith University Medical School.
