Dr Andrew Wignall

Dr Andrew Wignall is a highly qualified and dedicated Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon and Otolaryngologist who provides comprehensive care for both adult and paediatric patients. With a reassuring and patient-centred approach, he manages a wide spectrum of conditions affecting the ear, nose, throat, head, and neck. Dr Wignall is particularly interested in head and neck cancer surgery, salivary gland disorders, and the assessment and management of snoring and sleep apnoea. His practice also encompasses voice and laryngology, as well as sinus and nasal obstruction disorders.

In addition to his adult practice, Dr Wignall has a strong focus on paediatric ENT, enjoying the opportunity to work with children and address their unique healthcare needs. He regularly treats common childhood conditions such as tonsil and adenoid issues, ear infections, and hearing difficulties. His broad clinical expertise allows him to deliver personalised care plans, ensuring that both young patients and their families feel supported and informed throughout their treatment journey.

Dr Wignall completed his medical education with a Bachelor of Medical Science and a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. He initially worked as a General Practitioner in Launceston, Tasmania, where he also served as the Regional President of Sports Medicine Australia. He subsequently undertook advanced training in General Surgery before specialising in Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and holds active memberships with the Australian Association of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery and the Australia and New Zealand Head and Neck Cancer Society.
