Dr Amira Sanki

Dr Amira Sanki is an Australian-trained Specialist Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon and principal surgeon at Southern Aesthetic Plastic Surgery in Sydney. With more than 15 years of surgical experience, she specialises in aesthetic and reconstructive procedures involving the breast, face and body. She has particular expertise in body contouring following significant weight loss or pregnancy, breast surgery and facial rejuvenation.

Alongside her clinical practice, Dr Sanki has an established academic and professional leadership background. She holds a PhD from the University of Sydney, has published research in melanoma management and surgical outcomes, and has contributed to the development of plastic surgery education and professional standards in Australia.

Dr Sanki’s clinical expertise encompasses breast augmentation, breast reduction, breast lift and breast reconstruction; body contouring procedures including abdominoplasty, liposuction, body lift, arm lift and thigh lift; and facial aesthetic surgery, including facelift, eyelid surgery and otoplasty. She also provides reconstructive surgery, skin cancer management and selected non-surgical skin treatments. Her particular interest in patients following significant weight loss or pregnancy includes addressing excess skin and changes in breast and body contours. Her reconstructive practice also draws on experience in melanoma research and the surgical management of skin cancer.

Dr Sanki has published research in peer-reviewed journals on melanoma, surgical outcomes and reconstructive practice. Her research contributions include studies examining melanoma progression, lymph-node assessment and surgical management. She has also presented at national and international professional conferences on body contouring, breast surgery, patient assessment and surgical safety.

Her professional contributions extend to training and mentoring plastic surgery registrars, supporting education initiatives and promoting informed decision-making and patient safety in aesthetic surgery. She has served on the ASAPS Board and is listed by Southern Aesthetic as a Councillor of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons from May 2026.
