Dr Alison Hartwell

Dr Alison Hartwell is a compassionate and highly skilled General Practitioner who is dedicated to delivering comprehensive, patient-centred care. With a strong focus on preventative medicine and holistic well-being, she supports patients of all ages through every stage of life. Dr Hartwell prioritises building trusting, long-term relationships with her patients, ensuring they receive personalised and reassuring medical guidance in a comfortable environment.

Her diverse clinical interests span a wide range of medical needs, with particular expertise in women's health, antenatal shared care, and paediatric medicine. Dr Hartwell is also highly experienced in sexual health, providing essential services such as cervical screening, contraception management, and STI checks. Furthermore, she has a special interest in musculoskeletal medicine, performing ultrasound-guided steroid and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections. She is also widely recognised for her inclusive and affirming approach to transgender medicine, offering gender-affirming hormone therapy (GAHT) and dedicated support for gender-diverse individuals.

Dr Hartwell completed her medical studies at Griffith University, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). She undertook her post-graduate hospital training locally before qualifying as a General Practitioner in 2012. Committed to maintaining the highest standards of clinical practice, she is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) and holds a Diploma in Child Health (DCH). She has also completed advanced training in gender-affirming hormone therapy to support her specialised clinical work.
