Dr Alexander Viardot

Dr Alexander Viardot is a highly qualified Consultant Endocrinologist and Senior Staff Specialist who specialises in hormonal and metabolic health. With a patient-centred and personalised approach to care, he provides comprehensive management for a wide range of endocrine conditions. His clinical focus encompasses general endocrinology, with particular expertise in diabetes, obesity, and thyroid disorders, as well as adrenal and pituitary diseases. Dr Viardot is dedicated to helping patients achieve optimal health through evidence-based, multidisciplinary treatment strategies tailored to each individual's unique needs.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Viardot is actively involved in medical research and education. He serves as an Associate Professor and a Group Leader at a prominent medical research institute, where his research focuses on the fundamental mechanisms of insulin resistance, appetite hormones, and genetic conditions such as Prader-Willi syndrome. He has also been instrumental in public health initiatives, leading outreach clinics to address health inequities and improve healthcare delivery for vulnerable populations.

Dr Viardot completed his specialist training in internal medicine and endocrinology in Switzerland before moving to Australia to pursue a PhD in diabetes and obesity research. He further advanced his expertise as a postdoctoral Research Fellow in London. Dr Viardot holds a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), a Master of Public Health (MPH), and a Master of Health Leadership and Management (MHLM). He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) and an Associate Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators (AFRACMA).
