Dr Adrienne Chan

Dr Adrienne Chan is a dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner who provides comprehensive, patient-centred care. She believes that an essential aspect of General Practice is building meaningful relationships with her patients, taking the time to understand not only their medical concerns but also how their lifestyles, families, and personal interests influence their overall well-being. Her clinical approach is characterised by active listening, open discussion, and patient empowerment, ensuring that individuals are fully informed and actively involved in all decisions regarding their healthcare.

With a broad range of clinical interests, Dr Chan offers expert care across all stages of life. Her areas of focus include women's health, family planning, pre-pregnancy planning, and paediatric care. She is highly skilled in providing comprehensive pregnancy care and is accredited to provide shared maternity care in collaboration with major maternity hospitals. Additionally, she has a strong interest in dermatology, travel medicine, and performing minor clinical procedures, such as mole removals and contraceptive implant insertions. Her practice is guided by a commitment to preventive medicine and health optimisation, helping patients achieve long-term wellness.

Dr Chan completed her medical training at the University of Queensland, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery in 1993. She completed her internship and residency across several major hospitals in Brisbane, gaining valuable experience in surgical, medical, and paediatric specialties. She commenced her specialised training in General Practice in 1996, completing her examinations in 1998, and was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 1999. She is an active member of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and serves as an accredited Shared Care Maternity Affiliate, as well as an Admitting General Practitioner for a residential early parenting programme.
