Exceptional NHS Care I have always had a brilliant service from the NHS, but the care I received on 18 of September was nothing short of exceptional. After part of my hearing aid became detached and lodged deep in my ear canal, I attended the Hearing & Balance (Audiology) Department at King Edward VII Hospital. Having quickly identified the problem, Kirsty Booth immediately arranged for me to be seen by ENT, where Consultant Miss Yasmin Abbas expertly removed the hearing-aid component, together with some other debris. Both members of staff were exceptionally efficient, professional and, importantly, kind and reassuring. Having spent my career in public service dealing with critical incidents in various parts of the world, I have learned to recognise those individuals who are prepared to go above and beyond what is professionally required of them. I have no hesitation in saying that both of these people demonstrated exactly that quality. I sincerely hope that they receive the recognition they so richly deserve. They are a credit to the NHS. I have had amazing treatment, advice and surgery from Dr Abbas over the last year and I am so truly thankful for the care and attention throughout my condition, surgery and recovery!

I felt listened to and understood. I'm autistic, so I run off a different operating system. I think a consequence of this is that I often feel unheard and dismissed. But not with Doctor Abbas. It's like she asked all the right questions, and held all the strands without reduction to get a clearer overview of what might be happening. She's a very good doctor. And her letter after the consult was unlike any other doctor's letter I've received before. It was thorough, detailed, and accurate to what I said. With helpful diagrams, guides for the new medication routine I'm on, and links to learn more about the condition. I received it warmly.

Dr. Abbas is wonderful. I felt nervous coming in with my symptom, but she eased my worries with a warm and compassionate manner. She listened carefully and patiently to my concerns and answered my questions without rushing the appointment.

I think Dr Abbas is amazing. Very knowledgeable, skilled and adapts as per patient needs!!
