Miss Yasmin Abbas

Miss Yasmin Abbas is a Consultant Otolaryngologist with a subspecialty interest in otology. She specialises in the diagnosis and management of ear disorders, hearing loss, and ear surgery, and provides care for both adult and paediatric patients. Her clinical practice includes the management of a wide range of ear and hearing conditions, as well as general ENT disorders.

Miss Abbas holds a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Material Engineering from the University of Nottingham and a medical degree (MBChB) from the University of Warwick. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons with a specialty in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. Following completion of her specialist training, she undertook a fellowship in ear implants before taking up her consultant position at Wexham Park Hospital. In this role, she leads the otology service and serves as a clinical tutor responsible for the teaching and supervision of resident doctors and medical students.

Her clinical expertise includes advanced surgical techniques such as endoscopic ear surgery, balloon Eustachian tuboplasty, bone conduction hearing implants, and local anaesthetic grommet insertion in adults. She also provides specialist paediatric otology services, including surgical care for children when required.

Miss Abbas is actively involved in research and education. She is the Principal Investigator for the NIHR STARFISH UK-wide randomised controlled trial on sudden sensorineural hearing loss and has published widely in peer-reviewed journals. She regularly presents her research at national and international conferences and contributes to training programmes for junior doctors and ENT specialists.
