Mr William Cohen

Mr. William Cohen is an experienced physiotherapist who joined the HCA Primary Care team in 2017. He has a diverse background, having worked in both the NHS Hospital Outpatient settings across the UK and in private practice in his hometown of Melbourne, Australia.

Mr Cohen's journey in physiotherapy began with him obtaining a Bachelor of Exercise Science from the Australian Catholic University in 2010. He furthered his education by completing a Doctorate of Physiotherapy from the University of Melbourne in 2013.

His extensive experience has allowed him to refine his skills in treating musculoskeletal injuries, with a particular focus on sports and exercise-related injury presentations. His involvement with various amateur and elite sporting teams, including football, cricket, and rugby, has deepened his interest in sports-related injury management.

In his approach to patient care, Mr Cohen emphasises effective communication and building strong connections with his patients. He prioritises a hands-on approach and patient education, tailoring management plans to individual goals and focusing on preventing injury recurrence through movement retraining and exercise therapy.

As a skilled physiotherapist, he employs a range of advanced treatment methods, including spinal manual therapy, dry needling, clinical Pilates, muscle energy techniques, and kinesio-taping. He has a special interest in shoulder and knee injury rehabilitation, particularly return-to-sport protocols and end-stage strength training. Additionally, he offers clinical ergonomic workstation assessments to help patients manage and prevent injuries associated with desk work.

With his passion for sports and exercise-related injuries and his commitment to patient-centred care, Mr Cohen strives to provide the highest level of treatment and support to his patients.
