Ms Wendy Illingworth

Wendy Illingworth is a Clinical Associate in Applied Psychology and accredited Applied Psychologist by the BABCP with over ten years of comprehensive experience as a lead therapist in both the NHS and private sector. She currently serves at Roodlane Medical New Broad Street and in a community mental health team within the NHS Psychology service.

Throughout her training and experience, Wendy has effectively addressed a diverse range of psychological difficulties, including depression, anxiety disorders (such as phobias, panic, social anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder). Primarily utilising cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), Wendy also has expertise in various therapeutic modalities, including eye movement and desensitisation and reprocessing therapy (EMDR), compassion focused therapy (CFT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). She adopts an integrative approach, tailoring her methods to meet the unique needs of each individual she works with. Wendy's goal is to create a warm, safe, and non-judgmental space for individuals to explore their difficulties, providing a therapeutic environment that fosters growth and positive change.

Alongside her clinical work, Wendy is a supervisor on the Applied Psychology MSc at Stirling University. She adopts an integrative approach, tailoring her methods to meet the unique needs of each individual she works with.
